as Austrian Science Minister it is my pleasure to welcome the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons from Germany, Austria and Switzerland to the Joint Meeting in Innsbruck.
The high number of 1800 participants is an indicator of the high interest in the topics of the meeting. Approximately 700 scientific contributions were submitted, reflecting the extraordinary level of activity of the surgeons from the participating nations.
